The Pioneers abstracts are now available as part of the HRI 2020 Companion Proceedings on ACMDL!

Regarding COVID-19: It is with great disappointment and reluctance that, due to the rapidly evolving COVID-2019 situation, we have decided to cancel HRI Pioneers workshop this year. While this might come as a disappointment for many especially the participants, speakers and organizers, we want the pioneers this year to know that we really value your work and contributions to the HRI community and hope to interact with you in person in future events. To celebrate the work of the Pioneers this year, we will be hosting pre-recorded videos of presentations (3 mins each). More details on submitting the video are here. This link states the videos must not be longer than 10 mins but for Pioneers the limit is 3 mins. We apologize for this confusion, which we are working on correcting.

The 15th annual Human-Robot Interaction Pioneers Workshop will be held in Cambridge, UK on Monday, March 23, 2020 in conjunction with the 2020 ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction.

Pioneers seeks to foster creativity and collaboration surrounding key challenges in human-robot interaction and empower students early in their academic careers. Each year, the workshop brings together a cohort of the world's top student researchers and provides the opportunity for students to present and discuss their work with distinguished student peers and senior scholars in the field.

Pioneers is a premiere forum for graduate students in HRI, thus we invite students at any stage of their academic career to consider applying. To facilitate attendance, we expect to provide financial support to accepted students to help mitigate the costs of the workshop and main conference.
