The workshop application site is now open for submissions. The deadline for submitting applications is 9:00 am CET on Saturday, December 14, 2013 (3:00 am EST/12:00 am PST), and the deadline for submitting letters of support is Friday, December 20, 2013.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by Saturday, February 1, 2014. Accepted applicants who attend the 2014 HRI Pioneers Workshop on Monday, March 3, 2014 are strongly encouraged to attend the main HRI 2014 Conference the following days from March 4-6.
Completed applications will consist of:
1) A two-page extended abstract describing the applicant’s past, current, or proposed work. This extended abstract should NOT be an account of the applicant’s entire history of HRI research projects, but rather, it should focus on one specific research project or one coherent body of research. Please refer to last year’s 2013 HRI Pioneers Workshop Proceedings for example abstracts.
2) A curriculum vitae.
3) A letter of support from either a faculty advisor or designated supervisor.
Two student presenters will be selected from successful applicants and invited to present their research at the workshop.
All documents for the Workshop must be submitted in PDF format. Formatting for the two-page extended abstract will follow the same guidelines as the main conference Late Breaking Reports (LBR). Note that the main conference has recently changed to the ACM SIG Proceedings Template. Word (please use the US letter template, not the A4) and LaTeX templates are provided by this link.

A separate link with uploading instructions for the letter of support will be automatically sent to the advisor or supervisor designated by the applicant during the online submission process.
NOTE: The external abstract review process will be double-blind; therefore, do not include any author names on your abstract document and please try to minimize any identifying information. This applies only to the two-page extended abstract. Applicants not following this guideline will be disqualified.
